Gosh, I cant wait to watch this! Anna Wintour is my inspiration, even though in some point people hated her because she wanted everything perfect. I think without her, the industry won’t set standards as high as hers, or even better. Really can’t wait to see it! A
lamoneal – fashion is a craft but it also shapes and maps trends in our cultures. todays craft is tomorrow’s heritage …
couture however does border on art because of the exceptional standard of handcraft. when you see an impossibly beaded, beautifully constructed, detailed item of clothing it can be breathtaking … just like art!
Let’s not over think this. Fashion is a craft. It is not a science and it is only occasionally art. It is also a muti-billion dollar business and Ms. Wintour is one of it’s most successful promoters.
The film will be not only a “behind the scene look” at one of the worlds most powerful editors but, a 120 minute p.r. blitz for Conde Nast . In other words a two hour commercial for Vogue and conspicuous consumption. Not necessarily a bad thing but, let’s not kid ourselves. Art it ain’t.
3. Post: I am not a marxist, nor do I believe people are equal. But it is a little to sad to see so much money flowing in fashion when there are so many problems to get solved…greetings from Germany
2.Post: I am fascinated by physical and technical beauty, I enjoy luxus (with a limit), I insist everyone should make sports to improve his appearance, and should try to have a serious experience but I just think that many people are getting stuck to fashion thus missing other important things in life.
1st post: You are definitevely right in some points: Everyone wants to look nice and good, the exterior of a man is saying very much for the person itself. I do agree that beauty and finesse are important characteristics of the society.
then why do you allow yourself to enjoy music? Does a song about tragic love have anything to do with feeding the poor? Why do you delve into your own non philanthropic endeavors, why don’t we all set up a marxist utopia where everyone is equal. Most if not all people in the industrialized countries know that the planet, both its physical form and inhabitants, is dying. You’re not so special to discover that. Humans are driven by self interest, but we do our best to help whenever possible.
This is not just evident in fashion. What would the world look like without good looking, creative architecture? Drab melancholic grey concrete blocks with likewise melancholic inhabitants. Design brings beauty and innovation. To put it in social perspective, because of our evolutionary genes we are bound to be happier when we see and experience beautiful things. But it doesn’t mean we should be completely absorbed in exterior beauty and become shallow of other issues.
Those people are rich because they are educated in their own specialty and are cultured in their own right. Yes, there are a lot of ridiculous and pompous no talent half brains in fashion, but that is expectant any of the arts field which is prone to have spoiled brats who come from family money. But does that mean design doesnt matter? Certainly not, and there are actually a lot of genuine talents in fashion. They are not like Paris Hilton who leeches off fame of being a dolled up socialite.
carloscream: you are sooo right at that, but you know what? Those companies are not forcing people to buy this crap, its the people that want it, so just let it be…the planet is dying but only a few are realizing it.
Can you believe those people are fu**ing rich because we believe they are THE THING?
Please people, let´s spend money on things that really matter, anything BUT fashion!

It’s art, and art works cost a fortune. Especially Fashion is a wearable art and I thought it’s gonna cost more than 300 billion dollards.
