CloverField The Movie – The Plot
The films begins at a going away party for Rob who took up an offer or rather promotion that will take him to Japan. Just as all the festivities go into full swing, it turns out that a monster is on the loose, wading the partygoers into a terrifying, action-filled urban landscape. In the midst of all these, the entire scene was captured on the lens of these city dwellers.
Expect to see skyscrapers caving in, and endless spurts of explosive actions. It is a daring act of the directors to leave the entire soul of the movie into the hands of the young actors.
Every monster movie has its doomed human characters, so let’s look at them first. On paper, Rob might seem like the typical stoic action hero, risking life and limb to save the girl. The truth is, though, that Rob is a jerk. When Rob decides to go back for Beth, it’s not just because he’s “the good guy,” but it’s because he’s also looking to redeem himself and his actions, to make up for his past mistakes.
The movie does not have a major actor stealing the screen. This is not your usual kind of movie. Everyone is treaded just about equal. As the viewer you feel you are with the group as you are seeing the movie from the first person view. You feel connected to the characters as you understand that because of their loss, they have to set something right and not escape from the city. The movie draws you in and you feel like you are a part of the action.
One thing you must remember going into CloverField the movie. Remember the first 10 seconds of the movie. If you keep that in mind everything will make sense and make the movie more pleasurable.
