6 years after the 9/11 event, we are getting movies such as CloverField 2008, filmed hiding the event as the storyline and motive behind them. This new monster thriller just like the monster movies in the 50s and 60s are often the allegories for America’s worst fears such as the Red Menace or nuclear testings. CloverField the movie is a mix of the Blair Witch Project and Godzilla. Set in the city of Manhattan, it talks about the story of a monster invasion and the city in panic as chaos surrounds them. Quite understandably, we know why they have to choose New York of all cities.

Some Facts About CloverField The Movie
It is a science fiction and adventure movie, set in the US in the year 2008, and was released on 18 Jan 2008. The running time is 78 minutes and is rated as PG-13. Cast comprises of Michael Stahl-David, Jessica Lucas, Lizzy Caplan, T.J. Miller, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman. The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, with screenplay by Drew Goddard, and distribtuted by Paramount Pictures.
CloverField The Movie – The Plot
The films begins at a going away party for Rob who took up an offer or rather promotion that will take him to Japan. Just as all the festivities go into full swing, it turns out that a monster is on the loose, wading the partygoers into a terrifying, action-filled urban landscape. In the midst of all these, the entire scene was captured on the lens of these city dwellers.
Expect to see skyscrapers caving in, and endless spurts of explosive actions. It is a daring act of the directors to leave the entire soul of the movie into the hands of the young actors.

Every monster movie has its doomed human characters, so let’s look at them first. On paper, Rob might seem like the typical stoic action hero, risking life and limb to save the girl. The truth is, though, that Rob is a jerk. When Rob decides to go back for Beth, it’s not just because he’s “the good guy,” but it’s because he’s also looking to redeem himself and his actions, to make up for his past mistakes.
The movie does not have a major actor stealing the screen. This is not your usual kind of movie. Everyone is treaded just about equal. As the viewer you feel you are with the group as you are seeing the movie from the first person view. You feel connected to the characters as you understand that because of their loss, they have to set something right and not escape from the city. The movie draws you in and you feel like you are a part of the action.
One thing you must remember going into CloverField the movie. Remember the first 10 seconds of the movie. If you keep that in mind everything will make sense and make the movie more pleasurable.

“Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” was released on 25 April 2008.

PopCorn Summary of Plot
The two leads Harold and Kumar (John Cho and Kal Penn) tried to fly to Amsterdam for a smoke-filled vacation but ended up being accused as terrorists.

The movie boasts of a cast such as John Cho, Kal Penn, Rob Corddry, Roger Bart, Neil Patrick Harris under the directorship of John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. The two gentlemen were also the script writers. The entire run time is 102 minutes, quite a short movie but for a comedy, the length is just nice. It has an R-rating for crude language, nudity, and drug use.
Plot of Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay
All fans of the original classic Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle will remember this slapstick comedy 4 years ago. After a long wait, Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay is poised to be the best comedy movie in 2008.
Treading on political and race (not racial) issues, this is a funny show that will tickle you for the entire length of the movie. The movie bounces between the raunchy and relevant and the political like Homer Simpson at a bake sale.
“Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” The Movie promises to deliver their usual brand of stoner gags. While the movie tries to convey some serious subjects, they fail to really hit home the messages. Well, meant as a gag movie anyway, the movie does live up to their viewers’ expectations and is definitely a match for its first. Normally, sequels always fail and lose steam in its plot.
The movie tries to poke a little fun at the US president but somewhat is a harmless joke at best.

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer finds the group pursuing their argentine adversary as he glides across the globe wreaking havoc and preparing Earth for imminent destruction. Along the way they will unravel the mystery behind the appearance of the shiny surfboarder, battle with the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr Doom.
Reed Richards and Sue Storm are about to be married when a mysterious alien, the Silver Surfer crashes the proceedings and heralds Earths impending destruction. With time running out, the Fantastic Four reluctantly teams up with the nefarious Dr Doom. Reed can hack into computers and stretch to bridge large gaps; Sue can move heavy objects with her telekinesis; Ben can reach up and tear down fire escapes and ledges; and Johnny can set objects on fire. Yet, they realize that they are no match for the Silver Surfer who seems invulnerable.
Reed Richards plays a vulnerable figure– a geek or genius who is not good at all at acting on how he feels, but his character falls flat compared to Grimm’s. More interesting is Victor Von Doom whose resemblance to Darth Vader, in terms of career trajectory is striking, as striking as the resemblance in costume.
Silver Surfer, the one from the original comic book series from 1968 was much more powerful, pensive and deep than the one portrayed in the movie. Silver Surfer is the tortured herald of Galactus, a cosmic being that travels the universe devouring worlds.
The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver’s effects is dazzling, but the Surfer looks too metallic, more like a skyriding T-1000 robot. He looks like a nude, silver-skinned man, and he flies around the universe on a silver surfboard.
Fantastic and Jessica Alba as The Invincible Woman were completely unconvincing and dull in the first movie but this time they really have grown into their characters. If you do choose to watch Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, at least this time round you won’t kick yourself for having spent time with the Fantastic Four.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer brings back the best elements in the first movie, and provides an avenue for more of such adventures with the familiar quartet. It’s a popcorn movie, and one which entertains throughout its relatively short 90 minutes duration.
