Yet it is reported that Denmark is the happiest country on earth (by FORBES magazine among others)….

Wait… wait… you think the US is still capitalist?
We haven’t been capitalist since 1913… I might even say the 1840′s when they forced the competition to the PO out of business, or in the 1860′s when Lincoln subsidized the railroads and protected the iron industry from competition.
How did we become so skeptical and gullible at the same time?

Denmark’s taxes are closer to 80%. You’re just thinking income taxes. The sales tax is around 12-14%. They have a 60+% unemployment ratio. 1.5 is recorded as unemployed, about 30% get government transfers for doing nothing, and another 32% are employed by the government. That means that only 35% of their citizens are actually productive and support the other 2/3rds. They only get to use 20% of their paycheck to live…

You believe in personal liberties? Or do you mean you’re a progressive leftist?
Dem’s have hijacked what it means to be liberal, and neo-cons have hijacked what it means to be conservative.
I’m a true classical liberal conservative. =) Small government, personal liberty, and the right to defend ones property. Something that is almost impossible to do in a country ruled by corporate socialism.

brilliant….
i’ve been with moveon since the 2004 elections
this movie needs to be huge
although I’m hoping they use it to cover all of the issues moveon has targeted, rather than to provide a history of the organization…

Don’t be naive. If you know anything about the conspiracy loons, you know their talking points. Click on his channel and see who he subscribes to… bingo, Alex Jones and a couple other “infowarriors”. So maybe I did pull a “red herring” and change the argument, but I wanted to make a bigger point, which was that these people aren’t free thinkers, just walking microphones for Alex Jones and his kind to speak through.

These people are trying to shutdown all civil debate and discourse concerning health care or anything that’s not in corporate financial interests.
Honest speech? They are MOBS! Well paid, shouting MOBS who have no interest in dialogue. Their sole existence is to disrupt dialogue and depict a false image of public opinion.
The GOP should just replace their symbol of the Elephant with a PLOT OF ASTROTURF.

Are you a supporter of Pakistan?
By CarryANationIII on Aug 8, 2009 | Reply
No but I’ve seen their demonization of Pakistan just at the exact time when Obama is expanding the war there. The change in tone is pretty overt.

The Blue dog and republican fight against single payer health insurance proves that we have far to go before we take back our country.

This isn’t honest exercise of free speech; it is meant to intimidate, disrupt and stop the free speech of others and end an important public dialogue. It is harassment.

Is Moveone the move related to that Nazi collaborator Sorros? Anybody knows? cause if it is so it’s fraud, a false opposition.
By EarthsFinalConflict on Aug 8, 2009 | Reply
I remember when MoveOn started because of Ken Starr and his Clinton witch hunt. Thats when I joined. Its amazing what a great President Clinton was despite the best efforts of the neocons. From Whitewater to Monica, they couldn’t keep a good man down.

That sounds like a lot more paranoia than reality. Isn’t possible that there are people who disagree with you genuinely?

Thanks for the inspiration to help me advance conservative ideas.
This same type of movement is beginning on the conservative side now.
Keep telling yourself these people using their free speech rights are a “mob” or “astroturf”. Meanwhile, support for the Democrats health care bill is falling by the day. They have to be fast because the more that find out what is actually being proposed the more that are against the bill.

It’s true. Lots of Wikipedia accounts are set up by political action committees (PACs) to push their points of view onto people. It’s far worse on YouTube where they don’t even try to stop that kind of thing.
The smoking gun is how all the spammers use all of the best right-wing talking points, and how they slam the system all at once. These are planned campaigns. The script is distributed primarily by fax.

Fail.
Brave New Films actually has put out several videos opposing the war in Afghanistan since Obama became President. Just look at their channel…see all those videos titled Rethink Afghanistan? Brave New Films actually made a full-length documentary about it.
How about we make a deal…from now on you promise to not speak out of your ass about things you’re ill informed about, and I promise not to make you look like a retard for doing so. Deal?
