It’s a line from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. It’s Scrooge’s catchphrase. He says it to dismiss things people say. Just like she’s dismissing him when he says “Spike Lee’s shooting down the street”. I always thought it was as if she doesn’t believe him, but maybe that’s just me.

I thought maybe she said it because at first she says ‘thank god for the moon light’ and he said ‘maybe its not the moon at all…’ and she might of thought he was going to say ‘you light up the room you’re so pretty’ or something but he said ‘spike lees shooting down the street’ (whatever that means.) so shes like “bah!” lol thats my theory.

I like the movie, but it’s so different from the Broadway version. This song sort of suffered without Daphne as Mimi, and they took the sexy gruffness out of Adam’s voice. =(
