No offense, but Charlie and this punk shouldn’t even be mentioned together in the same paragraph. Manson was a cult leader. His followers came to him freely and wanted to kill for him. All Hollywood did was strongarm someone who owed him a debt through fear to kill for him. The Manson family on the other hand committed dozens of murders. They’re both sickos who deserve to be locked up as being dangers to society, but Manson was many times more powerful.

I wouldn’t have killed the kid. I probably would have driven to the east coast, got a plane ticket using a fake passport(or a real one. Then tried to father a kid in Brazil which is what Jesse James Hollywood tried because of the brazilian law which says you can’t be extradicted from the country if you fathered a child there except he used a fake passport so it didn’t apply) and dropped the kid off at a payphone with some money.

Really, “stupid”? That’s funny – because the main shooter in this case was told by Hollywood that his debt of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS would be cleared if he killed the kid.

So yes, it was over money. Not to mention, there was witness testimony in the trial that Hollywood tried to pay at least one of his crew members to whack the kid. So yes – it was over money.

Screw Hoyt, but I understand why he did it. He was desperate 2 clear his debt, DESPERATE PEOPLE DO DESPERATE THINGS. He probably didn’t want JJH 2 kidnap his family member also. If what the dad tried 2 do in Alpha Dog with a plea deal happened in real life, do that. But in the movie the son chose 2 be selfish. 2 years of not worrying about older brother.

Hey stupid they didn’t kill the kid because of the money. They kidnapped the kid because of the money and intended to hold him until they got the money(ransom). They killed the kid because they feared he would snitch if they returned him and they feared jail time for kidnapping which they ironically got plus the murder anyway.
