Remember the Desperate housewives thingie….
I mean there had been a caucasian,Black,Arab and east asian villain but will it be okay for you if a fictional Filipino will be the villain of a Hollywood movie.
Those who give a thumbs down to the good answers are damn sensitive.

Of course not, on the contrary I believe most Filipinos are proud of even with the mere MENTION of the country in any Hollywood movie.
And in reality it can actually be realistic if they will try to tie it up with some supposed Filipino based terror group. So it should be good.
The Desperate Housewife thingie is totally different, you have to be an actual Filipino doctor or even a Filipino medical practitioner working in the US to be able to know that that is totally different.

I don't think that it will be credible if you put Filipino a villain in a Hollywood movies.
What are the character traits of most Filipinos ?
They're family oriented, hospitable, hardworking,friendly, good natured people and sometimes shy.
If you cast them as villains in your movie 'im sure its a comedy movie.

I'm only half Filipino but I do believe that Filipinos are way too sensitive. I mean that whole desperate housewives thingy.. come on they took that way to seriously! And honestly I think they were right about the med schools in the Philippines. The doctors there aren't exactly the best! I mean both my aunties died and they supposedly didn't know why!

some will , but many won't, and the Philippine tri-media will surely find this issue irresistible to sensationalize so that their newspapers or programs be patronized thereby making huge sum of profits.
Filipinos really want exciting news, and this would make it in the beginning but short run and we'll just forget it ever happened., Transmutation of desires is innate in the Filipino mind.Quick to arouse but quick to lose interest.

its okay to have a filipino character on a movie or on tv as long as the script writers do a research first and not use stereotypes.
the desperate housewives fiasco was highly insensitive, it was like saying all Filipino doctors studied at diploma mills. that's a big insult. whoever thought of that line should be banned from writing again.

i think a filipino villain would rock!! heck, they could even cast erap for that role! now how many movies could brag about having a former president playing the bad guy, huh?
the desperate housewives thing though was kind of different. it wasn't an outrage from the filipinos in general, but more of from the filipino DOCTORS. see, you have to understand that doctors make their living off their reputation. something like that desperate houswives thing could actually destroy livelihoods.
so when jay leno makes fun of filipinos (and he does), i totally don't mind. but that desperate housewives thing, i can't help but sympathize with the doctors.

Edit: i used to get mad at disney channel though! because on the show "Lizzie McGuire" there is a girl named Miranda and she plays a Hispanic girl in the show but she's actually a filipina! lol.
