Obviously not.
A movie where the good guy gets away wasn’t cliche? And when getting away promises to return for the sequel, district 10.
The bad guys may as well have been wearing eye patches they were that banal. The soldier likes killing prawns. That’s his sole motivation. He was just a ‘bad guy’. No depth of character.
And MNU is a greedy corporation out to exploit and take over. Never seen that before

This movie did cater for morons, the kind of morons who don’t realise how moronic they are

I remember going to see this movie and at the end people appluaded. This was a powerful moviw if something like that happens.

Hate to be Captain Obvious, but the Prawns are kinda like ants or bees. They Arrived in Johannesburg without their leader and were clueless on what to do. They simply stayed inside, gambled, ate cat food (for some reason) and simply followed rules until humans or their leader brought them home. And the alien who you were talking about who blew up MNU was Christopher, and he was collecting fluid to make fuel that took 20 years, since he thought “Hey, I gotta do something, I wanna go home”

I dunno, I remember the audience clapping during/at the end of Star Wars episode one (the 4th one made just to clarify) and that was a god awful film.
Not saying this film couldn’t have an impact on people, but it’s not always a good indicator

Vickus was a stupid asshole from beginning to end. He only ever cooperated for his own benefit, he never really cared for Christopher’s well-being.
The bad guys were just bad. The soldier liked killing and…well..that’s about it. He wasn’t a character, he was an object with a name that justified violence, explosions and death and an eventual revenge scene. And what happened to Vickus’ father-in law? He was the big bad guy, and we don’t hear from him for most of the film
The characters were 2D

So you’re telling me the ONLY reason the aliens didn’t use their weapons to liberate themselves from the brutal Nigerian’s was because human laws stipulated they couldn’t? One weapon completely obliterated the MNU head quarters & the Nigerian stronghold. But for 20 years the aliens didn’t do this because some bureaucrats told them they couldn’t. You swallowed that bullshit whole?
Nigerian’s were acting illegally in the open, they weren’t shut down.
I’m sorry which of us wasn’t paying attention?

i came out of this movie with a feeling of like wow that was kick ass,but then like that was some video game shit. but if you really look back at this movie it just gets better and better. so anyone having thoughts just go see it. good review guys.

I dont rate Pearl Harbor, or Armageddon, I felt that “Deep Impact” was a way better and more human telling of that Idea. But have to admit, I liked The Rock. It does have Bay’s usual slow-mo, close up on the face, “all American hero” style directing to it, but is a fun action film. Connery is awesome in that film. But no, I understand what you mean bout M-Bay films.

LMAO. Wow by my understanding of what you just stated you only want the cliched version of a movie we have all seen a million times.

Maybe we should get some bad guys with like Eye patches and a plot to destroy the world. Also how about at the end of the film we have the mother ship blow up the MNU building just as it’s leaving and have it zoom in on the fathers eyes as he feels sorry for himself and screams “NOOOOOOOO.”

I am glad this movie didn’t cater for morons.

It’s because there are different degree’s of intelligence among them. They are a hive species so essentially all of the them we’re simply drones without any kind of real motivation of critical thinking. They are just trying to survive.

By comparison think of them as worker Bee’s. They cannot perform complex or even most simple tasks without a higher chain of command issuing orders.

A lot of people have overlooked this even though it is stated in the movie xD
